I chose alephz's application to use for the Sorting Contest that ran during the last two weeks. Below are the houses and the percentages of members who sorted the chosen application. The house with the highest percentage is awarded 1500 house points. Happy sorting!

I only joined the VK fandom some time later, so I don't have the very first LaLas, but if my information is correct,
in a little over a week, VK will hit the 5 years anniversary mark since the manga started running in LaLa. :D
I checked the official sites in Japan, and as of now there's no official celebrations planned for the five years (;-; *whimpers*), but being the obsessed fan I am, I feel the need to mark the occasion, even though I'm still somewhat swamped right now... XD;

Would anyone be interested in celebrating together too? :D
I was thinking we (the fandom as a whole, internationally) could do some sort of group project or something: As fans, we'd create fanworks (fanarts/fanfiction/amvs/etc.) to celebrate and show our love for VK, and post all our various creations on the 24rth, which is the official date for the magazine. X3

Anyone else suddenly encounter trouble running FFXI under Linux? As in today. What's happening makes no sense.

My credit card expired last month, so when I successfully launched the POL Viewer under Linux tonight, it prompted an update. The update now requires me to enter a password on Visa's site, and of course the button that launches the site in POL doesn't work under Linux. So I boot into Windows, update my credit card information, and then boot back into Linux.

Now pol.exe won't even launch, it just gives "pol.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close" and advises filing a bug at winedb. It's not a wine problem since it literally worked in wine 5 minutes ago.

Ideas?

ORIGIN: Harry's twin sister. She was retrieved from the house by Death Eaters instead of Hagrid. Bellatrix Lesstrange raised her, apparently. I don't know how this is possible, seeing as she was in Azkaban. At the age of 9 she is sent to live with the Mafoys when Bellatrix is finally arrested and sent to prison. The Malfoys treat her like crap.
CONNECTIONS TO CANON: Starts Hogwarts with her brother, Draco, Hermione and Ron. She is sorted into "Griffindore". After four years she is friends with everyone in the Order but is worried about the darkness inside of her. She has to go and stay with the Malfoys at this time, where she is paired with Draco. Plays Quidditch on the "Griffindor" team. She is a chaser.
SPECIAL ABILITIES: As a child she was taught advanced magic without the use of a wand.

This morning I felt like doing just about anything other than dragging my tired butt to Sunday Primary Series class. So what did I do? I dragged my tired butt to Sunday Primary Series class. That must be the love of Ashtanga that one of my teachers always talks about. You do yoga when you don't want to do yoga. You do yoga because you don't want to do yoga. It's days like that when you actually make personal progress. Strong days are great (and I do love them), but it's the tired days where you really feel like you've accomplished something by the time you're lying in Savasana, wishing you could just fall asleep.

The thing that I really love about yoga is that, if you look back, you can always tell that you've made progress. It comes slowly (often agonizingly so), but it does come. In the past year, I've accomplished a lot. I'm now able to do full Utthita Parsvakonasana with my hand flat on the floor (fully flat on my right side, fingertips touching on the left), full Marichyasana II with my leg in half lotus rather than cross-leg, Padmasana (though it's a bit shaky and I'm not as good with right leg first, which is standard) and (the big one for me) Urdhva Dhanurasana, which I can do straight-armed, all three times. I'd love to start learning full dropback eventually.

There are still quite a few poses that continue to elude me. Arm balances are very hard for me, though I feel like I am gaining ground with Bakasana and will be able to hold myself up in it soon. And I also have a very difficult time with balancing inversions. I've got great balance right-side up, but turn me upside-down and I have a tough time finding my center. A year after coming back to it, my Sirsasana is still reliant on a wall. I think that's probably a mental block at this point, rather than a physical inability, to be honest, That's a bit frustrating. I'm sure it will come in time, but who knows how long it will take.

I should practice more.

ORIGIN: They know about Hogwarts as a series of novels, like everyone else. Then she and her friends get their letters to Hogwarts and magical abilities late. Dumbledore makes an exception for them "because apparently we’re "in touch" with our magical abilities and we have different kinds of magic".
CONNECTIONS TO CANON: Her friend has a vision that she is going to be co-Head Girl with Hermione, and Draco is going to be Head Boy. The three of them are going to live in a dorm together. Nice. She meets Draco is Diagon Alley, where she gets into an argument with him about his character while trying to purchase a new broom. At Hogwarts, Dumbledore explains to them that they are actually all descendants of Godric Gryffindor and Rowena Ravenclaw, and there has been a prophesy made about them.
